The Madison Capitols Hockey Club

Digital Media/Communications Intern

The Madison Capitols welcomed me with open arms in November 2019 and I hit the ground running.

As the Digital Media/Communications Intern I did everything in my power to experience the business end of hockey operations and improve all things digital media for the organization.

I captured and produced video content for the organization to drive awareness and ticket sales. One specific example is the “Miracle On Ice 40th-Anniversary” video I created below. It received a great crowd response during the game and was an absolute treat to produce as I worked with players, coaches, and staff to make it a success.

My responsibilities also included generating news releases for special events and postgame wrap-ups. I created a professional-level news release template during my internship and used it to garner news coverage for the “Alex’s Lemonade Stand” fundraiser night the Capitols hosted.

I also assisted interns with gameday operations including arena setup and cleanup, in-game promotions, and ticket operations.

Miracle On Ice 40th-Anniversary

Do You Believe In Miracles?

To commemorate the 40th-anniversary of the “Miracle On Ice” game I worked with Capitols' players, coaches, and staff to recreate the iconic “Again” scene from the movie “Miracle On Ice.” The video was played during an intermission as part of the evening’s main festivities.

It’s a Great Day for Hockey!

There’s so much to love about Capitols’ Hockey

Another part of my internship with the Capitols was capturing and creating video content to highlight the energy and fun guests have at games. These were generated in an effort to raise ticket sales at both the day-of-game and season levels. They showcase the variety of people and areas of the arena which allow anyone to have a great time.
